SES New York 2009 is fast approaching. Once again the SES team have put together a great line up of speakers and topics. The conference is three days this year instead of four. I am sure this is in response to the slow economy. SES New York has always been my favorite Search show and is the grand daddy of them all.
This year my colleague Jason Ferrara and I are moderating three sessions in the C-level track directly aimed at C-Levels executives struggling to make sense of the move to digital. I cannot give away too much information as you will have to attend to get the full benefit. We have assembled an impressive lineup of client side speakers to help their peers navigate the issues traditional C-level marketers and decision makers have to deal with while moving to digital and implementing digital strategies.
There is an entire C-level track on Tuesday the 24th and I am thrilled to see SES move in this direction. One of the challenges we as online marketers have experienced is our own ability to communicate our message to traditional marketers. I do not think we have done a very good job of working with the traditional marketers and have at times alienated them with our “search is better than your strategy” message. The days of traditional v online have truly gone and it is prudent for SES to be offering the opportunity for all marketers to come together and discuss our shared challenges especially in these times of shrinking budgets and stringent ROI measurement.
